Franka Emika Arm

Project Dates: Septeber 2025 - Present

Goals:

I am repairing a Franka Emika, a roughly $20,000 7-axis robot arm used as a non-invasive assistive device for the paralyzed. The arm has a broken electromagnetic locking system, and the locking solenoids in the joints need to be replaced.

This project is in collaboration with the UCLA Neural Engineering and Computation Lab under PI Jonathan Kao.
